2700x 2666 vs 3200high-pitched whistle starts about 10s after fireing up, stays pretty constant while running and then tapers off after the boiler extinguishes itself. Any suggestions as to what might be wrong? I've seen various suggestions around a build up of limescale, but they seem to normally be referring to a much lower pitched rumbling sound. Thanks, Piers
- Mar 24, 2009 · The furnace makes a loud, very high pitched whining noise when it starts up each time, lasting for approx 1 minute. I have had approx 6 service calls (there were some problems with the installation including that it was not level and the pump was not vented), each time I hear a different story.

- London. Country: Our newish (about 7 months old) Main Eco Combi Boiler has started making a loud high pitched 'wail' about 10 minutes after the heating comes on. It then comes and goes throughout the the time the heating is on. We live in a 4 bed house, most rooms had radiators installed at the time we got the boiler.
- Jan 19, 2011 · High Pitch noises are a real pain and very awkward to diagnose on the net, and Im unfamiliar with your boiler, but could be the primary heat exchanger if its makes the noise when the CH and HW is on, or if the noise is only under the sink, - could be a water valve, stopcock, non return,or pressure reducing valve making the noise!!
- A rumbling noise coming from your boiler is a sign that it is kettling. Kettling is a serious issue that is caused by mineral deposits building up on the inside of the boiler’s heat exchanger. These mineral deposits are caused by hard water (water with a high mineral content) running through the boiler over a period of years.
- Later, after the boiler was turned back on we had a smell of some type of chemicalish odor. My boiler was also making a high pitched sound I have never heard coming from a box labeled honeywell on the large pipe connected to the flue. This box has two silver pipes coming from it that connects to the main heating unit and a red button.

- Sep 24, 2017 · When your air conditioning system turns on, do you hear a high-pitched whistling noise coming from your vents? The reason your air conditioning system is making that noise is because it has low return airflow. That means not enough air is moving through its return vents. This problem is usually caused by one of four things: Dirty air filters
- If you are hearing a high-pitched sound then check out these possible solutions. Step 1 - Check the Pressure Relief Valve. Check this emergency relief valve. If it is hot to the touch this may be the source of the sound. Try lowering the temperature.
- Jan 06, 2015 · A: hi. If its pressurised system firstly check the system pressure this should be a minimum of 1 bar cold on the pressure gauge , if its a conventional system with a small tank feeding the heating system in the roof check the ballvalve isn't stuck or blocked and there is water in the tank , its sounds like a pump problem to me but could also be a thermostat problem causing kettling within the boiler or a blockage in the heat exchanger but my guess would be the pump on its way out , don't try ...
